SUMMERTIME SPOTS IN LOS ANGELES

Cue the sun filled days, palm trees for miles, the beach and dozens of canyons... LA's considerable charms are not limited. Below you will find a few of my favorite spots and destinations in and around Los Angeles.

DESTINATIONS:

The Broad’s Infinity Room - Definitely a must for your Instagram bucketlist, and if you have already checked that box, go back and enjoy the experience. It’s a completely mirrored room filled with LED lights that look as though it goes on forever! Arrive EARLY or book weeks in advance. The Broad also has an amazing permanent collection and other temporary exhibits always worth popping in to see.

The Broad's Infinity Room

Santa Monica Beach Promenade - Rent bikes or rollerblade along the Santa Monica Beach! (Stop by any Perry’s Beach Store).

Melrose Avenue Murals - Go for a walk along Melrose Avenue and see dozens of unique murals painted on store facades and other buildings.

Parks and Beaches

Point Dume Beach - This is my favorite beach in LA! It’s not your typical Malibu beach, but a beautiful and calm destination! Known as a surfing beach, go in the early morning to see that scene, or later in the day for a much more private and intimate time.

Mandeville Canyon - Hands down, the best hiking spot in LA. It’s conveniently located (right off of Sunset) and easy to get up to; the trail is pretty easy, but just speed up for added difficulty; and, the views are unbeatable. My favorite time to go is right before twilight.

Joshua Tree - If you’re in for a road trip to the desert, set your GPS for Joshua Tree. This national park is absolutely stunning and is an experience like nothing else I’ve ever seen.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

The Coffee Shop at the Beverly Hills Hotel - Go for the picturesque 1950s style all-american dinner, stay for the avocado toast and silver dollar pancakes. After breakfast, spend a few hours at the iconic pool.

Plan Check - If you wanna burger, eat a burger (at Plan Check). Great ambiance and even better burgers. Also THE place to satisfy your chicken and waffles cravings.

Mauro’s - Italian meets hipster at this trendy indoor-outdoor eatery. Plus the added bonus of the built in after-lunch shopping at Fred Segal!

La Republique - Maybe best for a relaxed dinner or cocktails, La Republique is a modern French restaurant and bakery set inside what feels like a small European town.

Shopping

Melrose Place - Melrose Place is almost a ‘secret’ gem in LA. It’s lined with galleries, concept stores, a few restaurants, and luxury designers. The brand mix is quite unique, and the experience is extremely pleasant.

3rd Street Promenade - Satisfy all your big name brand needs at the 3rd street promenade in Santa Monica, from Apple to Nike to Urban Outfitters.
