5 SUMMER PURSE ESSENTIALS

Purses

By now, we’re all getting into the swing of summer. The longer days fly by and the warmer weather means amped up style game and unlimited social events. Now, with all these perks, come a few challenges… the heat and summertime spontaneity…  which means you always have to be prepared. I keep these few items in my purse so that I’m ready to beat the heat and ready for any event with moments notice!

Lipstick(s)

Ok, this is technically two items… woops! I keep a bright and a neutral lipstick with me at all at times! The neutral for the day (currently a pale pink gloss) and the bright one for night (currently a timeless blue red). Switching from pink to red lips will take your look from 1 to 100 in seconds. Go from poolside to bar-side equally as fast!

Compact face wipes

I’m obsessed with these Pep-Start Quick Cleansing Swipes Pop-Ups from Clinique. Each pod contains one wipe and takes up virtually no space in my bag. They’re great to use to freshen up midday.

A few hair ties

Sometimes, a girl has just gotta toss her hair up in a messy bun, and that girl needs a hair tie, pronto. Keep a few in the bottom of your bag so that you’re always well stocked and you can avoid a hair tie tan on your wrist!

Blister band aids

Nothing will ruin a wonderful day as quickly as a bad blister will. Carrying around band-aids is one thing, helpful yes, but do basic band-aids really stop the pain a blister gives you? For me, that’s a no. Compeed makes band-aids specifically designed for blisters and they will make your feet feel as good as new!

Backup battery

I don’t know what it is about the summer, but I drain my phone’s battery so quickly. Maybe I’m taking more photos? Maybe I’m listening to more music? If you’re anything like me, you’ll understand the struggle of getting that 20% notification by 1PM. So I keep a backup battery in my purse. I actually have two, so that while one is charging one day, I can use the other and vice versa. When I grab one, I make sure to plug in the other, so I don’t end up with no cell phone battery AND no backup!
