Welcome to the heart and soul of Madison McKinley. I am going to give you a rundown of the Steerhead Ranch, maybe a place that you keep seeing in pictures and you keep hearing about but don't totally know where it is.
There are simply no words for the Steerhead Ranch. It is my happy place. My grandparents bought this ranch in the 80's and I have been going every summer since before I can remember. This unique place is filled with history, mystery, and and a whole lot of happiness! Hopefully I can give you a little taste of what its like to be in God's country.
The Steerhead Ranch is located in the beautifully quaint town of Buffalo, Wyoming, populations 5,000. The town with only 3 cowboy bars, and more cows than people is filled with many artisans that are masters of there craft. The ranch boarders the Big Horn Mountain range, and the Big Horn National Forest. It is home to some of the most amazing wildlife where they are free to roam.
These beautiful animals are just one of the groups of wild horse that call the Steerhead home.

There are no limits at the Steerhead. When you look up in the night sky, with your naked eye you can see the Milky Way, almost as if you where at the Planetarium looking up at the sky. As the sunrises, and sets, you see the most incredible colors that you never thought could exist in nature. No picture can do it justice. The land is vast. It is a cattle and hay farming ranch. it is a place where you can go and LOVE YOUR FREEDOM, OWN YOUR MOMENT, AND LIVE YOUR VISION.
This is Shelby Jon. She is the ranch manager at the Steerhead. She is the most incredible, hard-working, curious, and caring human being I know. She can do it all.

Wyoming has the lowest population of all 50 United States.
The first Dude Ranch in Wyoming was the Eaton Ranch, near Wolf. The Eaton's also came up with the term "dude."
